Yancey Hospice and Palliative Care is Now

Compassionate Care Western North Carolina

Yancey Hospice and Palliative Care, a treasured local not for profit organization, located in Yancey County, announced that after 37 years it is changing its name to Compassionate Care Western North Carolina.

“We are incredibly excited to launch our new name and our new logo,” said Ronnie Gregory, Chief Executive Officer at Yancey Hospice and Palliative Care.  “For 37 years, we have been providing comfort, compassion and excellent care to our patients and their families at one of the most difficult and vulnerable times in their lives.”

“Over the years, we have expanded our services to areas outside of Yancey County in order to provide others with the superb level of care that they deserve when facing a serious illness.  While our physical office is in Yancey, our reach includes Mitchell and Madison Counties, as well as, the far northern portion of Buncombe County.  Therefore, we have changed our name to one that is more inclusive of the entire geographic area that we serve.  It is important to know that we have staff members who live in the expanded territories that we serve. So, we will have neighbors taking care of neighbors,” Gregory said

The organization has worked to keep its name change confidential up to this point to unveil it to the community collectively.  The new name, logo, and website had not been updated for many years and was no longer reflective of the progressive and geographic nature of the organization.

The new logo is a carefully considered unique design called “The Star of Compassion”.  This is to reflect the fact that the patients and families served by the agency are treated like stars and the people who work for the organization are stars of their profession.  Two bold colors were chosen to identify the top two service lines of the agency, hospice and palliative care.

According to Gregory, “Our new name, logo, and tagline reflect our core mission of providing compassionate care.  We are the right choice for patients and families in Western North Carolina who want to experience the best quality of life possible for as long as possible.  We provide wonderful care when you need it most.”

Compassionate Care

My dad received excellent care from Yancey Hospice and Palliative Care. I am thankful for the care and each of you who lovingly provided this care to dad and to my family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Phenomenal care, and attention to patient, and extended family members who visited for seven months!

Yancey Hospice and Palliative Care has the most wonderful people in the world. We could have not ask any better care for our mama and for us too. They do a great job. Thanks to all of you.

We were very concerned about how to care for my mom at home and how to get her to a doctor for care. Everyone at Yancey Hospice and Palliative Care was wonderful and helpful! They spoke directly to my mother and waited patiently for his answer. It was clearly evident they cared for and about her. They are a wonderful group! Thank you.

They were the best and I consider them friends for life.”

My mother was given wonderful care. I could not have kept her at home without hospice care. Each and every one did a great job meeting mother’s needs and mine. I am so thankful for the team we have in Yancey County.
